MEET BERNADETTE
sCIENCE TAUGHT FROM EXPERIENCE.
I'm Bernadette Mills—an environmental scientist, conservation professional, college instructor, curriculum developer, and homeschool mom with more than 20 years of experience in natural resources and conservation.
MY WORK
For more than two decades, my work has centered on helping people understand and care for soil, water, wildlife, and working landscapes.
My career in natural resources and conservation has taken me from field work and conservation planning to program leadership, partnership development, public outreach, and environmental education.
I especially enjoy translating complex science into something people can see, investigate, and use.
WHY I CREATE THESE RESOURCES
I have taught learners in many different settings—from homeschooling my own children to teaching college students and working with landowners, conservation professionals, and communities.
Bernadette's Under the Sun grew from those experiences.
I create resources that encourage students to ask questions, examine evidence, get their hands into the science, and understand how the natural world connects to their own lives.
Science is more than something to learn. It's something to explore.
